Targe

I have been blessed with an injury that has made me push beyond the fears of death and into the edges of places that humans rarely travel. If you would like to see more photos please follow me on Instagram “targehough97”. I am in the process of writing a book and I have much more to say but for now if I could pass on any wisdom it is that your perspective will change the experience you have here.

This experience can be the greatest teacher or the saddest tragedy. It is your choice.

Targe, a 20 year old surfer who worked on a cray fishing boat who had a brain injury from a ruptured AVM

My name is Targe Hough and I suffered a Brain injury in 2019. I was very fortunate to survive and had a long rehabilitation. There were days that I was unsure whether I would ever speak and walk again. I originally aspired to surf again and return to my normal life but I felt like that was no longer my passion.

As I continued in my life I decided to move in another direction and am attempting to write about my experience on the ward and my transition into normal life. I have wanted to write about the wisdom I have gained through the ordeal and put all the experiences I have had into a book. I really hope people can read it during their time in the ward and it takes some of their worries away.

Since the injury I have became different to what I originally was and I currently dive in some crazy places. I recently dived 30km off the coast off Bunbury and am a person constantly seeking adventure. I know there is a lot of people that will never get to experience these places and I would love to share them with others.
