What counts as an acquired brain injury?

An ABI is any brain damage that happens after birth, including:

Car accidents (most common legal claims)
Workplace accidents
Assaults
Medical negligence (e.g. surgical errors, delayed diagnosis)
Falls or sports injuries

Disability Legal WA (Legal Aid WA)

Community legal assistance in Western Australia includes, community legal centres, Family Violence Prevention Legal Services and the Aboriginal Legal Service, Legal Aid WA and private lawyers providing pro bono assistance direct to clients or through Law Access.

Our support is assured through our multidisciplinary team, comprising of solicitors, tenancy advocates, social workers, financial counsellors, financial advocates, older people’s rights advocates, community legal education staff, program support staff and a valuable contingent of volunteers. Youth Legal Service INC.

This is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free legal services to children and young people (under 25 years) residing in Western Australia. Children and young people can access our legal advice line during office hours.

Welfare Rights & Advocacy Service (WA)

This is a not-for-profit community legal centre that provides independent advice, information, referral, representation and advocacy in relation to Centrelink, Family Assistance, Tenancy and Social Security prosecution matters.The agency is based in Perth and provides its services in a geographic catchment area within the state of Western Australia. There is no charge for our services.
